Onboard sound dont work on aspire T120 board, please help me!!
i swapped my old intel mobo wich tbh wasnt very good, i bought 2 1gb ddr RAM from a mate and it wouldnt use them attall, it worked in my mums board, this t120 but only uses them as 512's?? (any ideas on this please?!?!?!?!)
i have tried installing realtek AC'97 audio drivers and that didnt work, i went on acer website and got the exact software for this board, still nothing, i read that maybe it is a registry error and i have used a couple of free registry cleaners and fixers, still nothing, sound is not muted anywhere all connections are fine the speakers are fine, (they are my stereo speaker nice big ones!!) they work fine on old board and anything else, if im trying to play music it shows it as playing but no sound comes out the port, i have tried using the head phone prt, still nothing.this is very frustrating as i love listing to music and watching movies using my pc and i cant!! any help i would be greatfull, thank you!! |

The Ram shouldn't effect the sound card-if you have a problem with the ram check if your processor/s can handle that much ram-also check it is not to new or too old ram chip/s for your processors. Some procesors won't support the old ram chips. If the sounds not working, check you have the right drivers installed properly and there are no conflicts with other drivers. Also check if you have not damaged the sound card or the connections to the output in any way (and of course that they are connected properly). Hope this is helpfull. Doctorzeus. i have deffinitly got the right, most up to date sound drivers installed, the sound connectors shouldnt be damages because when the board was in my family pc no one ever used the sound on it or done anything to the pc exept use it for web browsing ect.
the ram thing, i think there might just be a compatibility issue it should work properly on the new board i have which i cant use untill i can afford a processor lol, im next goin to re-install windows when i have some spare time and install the sound drivers before anything else to see if it is a confliction somewhere, hopefully then find what it is conflicting with and not install that peice of software/driver, also the RAM i have is only single sided could that be a problem with the board/processor being able to handle it?? thanks for the help... |
