Audio problem on certain games
Hi Im currently using onboard sound and am having a problem with a couple of games (far cry and avp2) when there is a cutscene and a character is talking there sentence cuts off before they have a chance to finish and the next characters line of dialogue plays. The onboard sound chip is the Realtek 7.1 HD audio which is in line for replacement and the output is goin through a 5.1 surround system do can anybody help me remedy this highly annoying problem??
Many Thanks |

just an idea, maybe it is your proccesor not being able to cope with proccesing everything, when i had a not quite as good setup as i do now i found that if im playing music, while browsing the net and running download programs plus all the background programs the sound would not always work very welland as you say it is in certain games aswell that makes me think that it is the proccesor not being able to cope,
also not having anough RAM could be the problem, hope this helps ![]() |

My PC specs are as follows :
Intel C2Q Q6600 @ 2.844Ghz (stock HSF) XFX 780I motherboard 2GB Corsair XMS2 Dominator RAM A single BFG 8800GT OC 700W Thermaltake Toughpower PSU I have no problems with audio in any other games I play which includes Crysis, the orange box, supreme commander, company of heroes which are a lot more demanding than the 2 games im experiencing the problems with. Im guessin it must be the cruddy onboard realtek audio which I intend replacing soon I was fancying an X-FI however I have heard the Auzentech cards are meant to be better have you any idea which is the better of the 2 parts?? thank you |

Might be a wild guess, but maybe its just a coincidence and be the games. I doubt you have damaged your sound card but I surpose it is posible, has it ever worked properly on that computer? Doctorzeus |
