Sound crackling with hd sound card

hi, ive recently purchased and new computer with a SMAX high definition sound card. The problem i am having is that the speakers tend to crackle at an explosion in a game or any other load noice. This never happend before i went HD. Do you need special HD speakers? Also when i try to switch back to analogue the sound stopps working and comes up with a driver error and wont let me re-install the SMAX software or even run it.
I have creative 5.1 speakers. Thanks

i can switch my sound card to analogue on the BIOS. when i do so it says i need to re-install my drivers, but if my speakers are HD anyway, then i shouldnt be having this problem, it must be another problem.
I have the option to switch HD off on the software but it doesnt seem to make much difference.
