Re: No Sound

In the Device Manager under "Sound, video and game controllers" do you see any red X's or yellow exclamation marks? These are signs of the device(s) being disabled or having conflicts. Perhaps the driver you are trying to use is faulty, or maybe your sound card is defective?

Re: Need help with sound card

The yellow exclamation mark means there is a problem/conflict with the device. You can try installing the latest drivers or see if the Windows Update page has drivers that are Windows supported. Sometimes manufacturer drivers don't work that well, so see if Windows Update has any. Also the LATEST drivers aren't always the best, an older version might be more compatible with your device.

What sound card is it?

Re: Need help with sound card

Try re-seating the card, and make sure it's getting power.

In the Device Manager, Right-Click on the device and select "Properties". There is a small window on the first tab that gives you the device's current status. What does it say? Usually it will tell you what exactly is wrong and why it's not functioning.

Re: No Sound

My card did the same thing. It updated the drivers and the sound completely stopped. I used sytem restore to roll back the divers and then deleted the new drivers it had installed.

Re: No Sound

Can you go into Device Manager, Right-Click the device and select "Properties". Go to the "Driver" tab and select "Roll Back Driver"? That should do it.
