Re: lost volume

Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > In the Volume tab Check "Place volume icon in the taskbar" and make sure it's not muted.

That should solve it.

If Eric's suggestion doesn't help; does the beep originate from inside the case itself?

Re: lost volume

the problem could not be fixed by going into the control panel/ audio device--it isnt high- lighted and im unable to click on "to add it to my task bar". the beep is comming from inside the case im almost certain.ÂÂ! :-[

Re: lost volume

You may need to re-install your sound card drivers. If your sound is integrated, sound drivers are bundled with motherboard driver most of the time.

Re: lost volume

You should have received a CD with all necessary drivers when you either purchased the computer, or purchased the motherboard. If you don't have this, you can go to the computer manufacturere site, look up your specific machine, and get the latest sound drivers for it. Or, if you know the motherboard manufacturer, you can go to their website and lookup your motherboard, and get the drivers for that.

Once you get the necessary file(s) downloaded, run them. It's a pretty simple wizard instillation process for the most part. It updates your drivers , and it should require a reboot after it's done. Once you reboot, you should have sound again. If not, post back in here.
