self building

i would love to have a go at building my own pc, but dont know where to start, can anyone suggest a place to look for info on how to do it, where did you guys start i have fitted new hd's and ram and dvd's and did a short course on taking puter's apart and rebuilding them but not sure what processors will fit mobo's etc thanks guys

Best advice i can personally give is to decide a budget first, then decide what you want to do with your pc.

Then, go out and buy a few mags and just read up, you'll be surprised just how quickly you get the basics.

But do not, as i've said many times, scrimp on the powersupply.

Best thing to do would be to post back when you've decided your spec and we can talk you through it and make any recommendations or just congratulate you on a job well done.

Sorry for such a general reply, and not a detailed one, but theres so much stuff you need to be aware of it would be a huge post and as i don't know your needs or budget it would be a waste of my time guessing and may just confuse you.

thanks for the reply, i will do as you say and try to work from a budget and do a bit of reading first, i will probabaly have to do a bit of saving anyway b4 i can begin
