First attempt at computer build!!!

Hi,

This is my first attempt at building a PC so please let me know what you think. I have already posted on the building & upgrading forum but guess this is now the more appropriate place to get my spec reviewed.

I understand that this may not be the highest spec computer but what I am hoping is that it will provide me with a significant improvement from my current PC (see my other post) and will also give me the scope to upgrade/replace some parts again in a year or two.

My priority for this system is photo/video editing, followed by music and then gaming.

MOBO: Asrock 775I945GZ, (£37.00)

CPU: Intel Pentium D 820 Socket775 , Smithfield Core, 2x2.8 GHz , 2MB Cache, (£71.66)

RAM: 1Gb Corsair Value Select, DDR2 PC4200 (533), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12 (£69.90)
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=121514

CPU Fan: Akasa AK-955 P4 Prescott/Conroe, S775 up to 3.6GHz/Extreme, 38.5 dB(A) Max Copper Core 3400rpm (£7.04)

Hard Drive: 160 Gb Maxtor 6G160EO DiamondMax Plus 17, SATA300, 7200 rpm, 8MB Cache, 9.0 ms, NCQ (£37.58)
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=428743

Case: AKASA Zen case - White Silent cool Midi-ATX Computing case w/2 silent 12cm fan & front I/O ports (£32.30)
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=446041

PSU: 500W Xclio X12S4P2 SLI Goodpower 12cm Fan Dual 12v EPS SATA PCI-E with Anti-Vibration 24x7 Use Ready (£34.02)
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=375883

Graphics: 256MB MSI 7300GT Mem 666MHz, GPU 350MHz, 8 Pipes, D-Sub/DVI/S-Video PCI-E (x16) Passive Cooling (£54.63)
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=442873

The cost for the above is about £350. I am planning on using my current DVD re-writer (NEC DVD_RW ND-3520A) and floppy drive…and if spare connections allow I might also look at using my current 80Gb Maxtor HD (6Y080P0).

One other thing I’ve got in mind to buy is a TV/video capture card. I’d like to be able to record digital TV and also connect it to my SKY box. What do you think to a LeadTek WinFast DTV-2000H? Are there any other better alternatives at the same price?

uATX mobo

Yeah that'll be fine. uATX boards will fit in ATX cases, just not the other way round.
