Ram Upgrade Problems

I am trying to Upgrade an Acer Aspire T310 Desktop from 1 x 512mb PC3200 DDR Ram to 2 X 1GB DDR PC3200 Ram.

According to the Acer website, the MoBo supports 2GB in two slots, which is what I have tried to install.

When I put both 1GB Rams in, the PC is very unstable, and keeps crashing. When I run memtest with both in, lots of errors come up immediately. However, when 1 GB is installed on its own, it runs fine. I have tested both sticks of Ram and individually they seem fine.

I have currently installed the 1 GB with the original 512Mb Ram,, and all seems ok.

Why won't the 2 X 1GB work? Any ideas?

Thanks

RAM's capacity depends on the motherboard, But what I can suggest to you is you can ask you OEM what to do about that.

Your desktop is capable of taking 2Gb of RAM......

Aspire T310 Specifications

Check each stick of memory on its own to eliminate hardware failure, if both sticks are fine then update to the latest BIOS and try again.
