New OCZ 8GB (4x2GB) kit

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you all now that the OCZ 8GB kit is due real soon.

If you want more info check out the link here . Price is yet to be announced but will most likely be pretty steep....

Currently it is really overkill for most users, but it would help in the long run for sure.

Why don't you post your reviews here instead of trying to increase traffic to your own site?

In short, why don't you contribute?

Why does it matter if i post a link or not? as far as i know in a thread theres nothing wrong with posting a link. It's not that hard to click and see the review.

How is that not contributing if i'm posting a link to a review? I don't think it should even be relevant who's site it is that i got the review from. If it was anandtech, or tomshardware you wouldn't be saying this.

What review? That's not a review.

Actually, it is relevant, and I'd ask you what the point was of simply linking to THG - I'd ask you for an opinion on the RAM, for example - something you manifestly fail to give, even in your full post. Indeed, the post on your blog doesn't give any more substantial information than your original post here. A review includes things like benchmarks, or even vague ideas like your impressions of the design, etc... You haven't actually reviewed anything, hence my feeling that you're spamming.

There's also a difference between attempting to promote your own site and linking to a site that you have no financial connection to.

Furthermore, THG or Anandtech are far more likely to actually have a review of high-end hardware, rather than a couple of short paragraphs that don't tell computer enthusiasts anything they can't find out via a simple Google search.

There's nothing I can do to stop you doing it anyway, so go right ahead and post. As journalism, though, it gets an "F".

so by your theory links to "non-articles" from sites like The INQUIRER - microprocessors, servers, memory, PCs, graphics, networking, storage should never be posted? ... If you dont have anything smart to say dont even bother posting. Thanks for doing the extra work and rating my post, and thanks for failing me professor :-)

*sigh*

No. By my "theory" (clearly you don't actually know what this word means) there should be a point to linking to external articles over and above trying to increase traffic to your own site - your "articles" say nothing, and have no connection with anything - they're not in response to any discussion about RAM or GPUs, and are just cold-pasted into a ten word post. Essentially, you're trying to advertise your site. Hence there is no point in linking to them.

Take a look at my posts here - I've been trying to help people and answer questions. Have you done that?
