- DDR RAM Help -

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me. I have the chance to buy a 256mb 266MHZ Memory chip for £8 but the guy in the computer store asked me to check my chip before I bought this new one for compatability issues before I bought the new chip...anyway the chip I have currently is 256mb 400MHZ and I was wondering if someone could tell me if they will both work ok at the same time??

Thank you (and I hope what I wrote made sence)

;D

Wow...That's mean you are DDR II right? You can check your mother board information at first before you buy the memory chip. You can know whether your computer can support or not through your mother board information guide book. Or you can try search it through internet. You may post your mother board details here if you can't find it.

Yes, they will both run togeth, although all 512mb of memory will run at the slower speed of 226MHz, instead of the 400MHz that your using now.
