Acer Aspire 3613WLMi Laptop
Right, where do I begin?
First of all I'd like to apologize for how this is going to turn out, I'm not all that good at writing reviews. The Acer Aspire 3613WLMi is part of the Aspire 3610 Series. The first thing you notice is the 15.4" 1280 * 800 widescreen LCD screen, it looks brilliant, however this is not the case if you wanted to try play even a small flash game as the image seems to want to distort itself. Next up we have the battery life, which I must say, is absolutely pathetic. On a full battery with the WiFi on, the battery lasts 55 minutes at its best, and that’s only if you're doing something like word processing. The WiFi. The WLAN seems alright and I only have one real problem with it. the WLAN button is right on the front of the laptop, this may not seem like a problem at first but when adjusting the screen whilst the notebook is on your lap, it is very common to accidentally press the WLAN button, thus cutting the connection to the WLAN and the internet. The hard drive. The hard drive is partitioned into two parts, C: and D:. I could understand this if that hard drive was over 100GB, but it isn’t, it’s just a 40GB HDD, so why they bothered to partition it is beyond me. Hotkeys The hot keys on the keyboard also have their own problem. If you set your laptop to remain switched on when you close the lid (as I do), the screen catches on the hotkeys and thus when you go back to using the laptop, you have the Acer power management software loaded several times, which is annoying! Other Problems I have had my Laptop repaired three times by Acer so far, all three times because the LCD cover is simply too weak for the size of the screen. The corners of the LCD cover crack badly, however I must say Acer has a very efficient repair department, once you send your laptop off it gets back to you within the week. The last concern I have had with this notebook is the heat it gives off. The laptop runs VERY hot, even if the fan is not blocked... I don't expect the processor to last too long. All in all the laptop isn’t too great, and if I could get my money back for it I would jump at the chance. This is an 'OK' laptop for word processing and internet browsing... Nothing more. The laptop generally is one big design fault after another. I was warned off Acer before I bought the laptop, now I know why... Please ignore any spelling mistakes and sentences that make no sense, if there are any. ![]() Please tell me what you think of my first review! (And be honest, please!)
