Does a "gaming" router need a "gaming" modem?

Hi all.

Ive recently been looking into buying a D-Link DGL-4100, and was wondering if its affect will be hampered by not having a "gaming tuned" modem.

The DGL-4100 prioritises the most time-sensitive packets, such as ones from gaming, VoIP, streaming and stuff.

Will a decent quality but "nothing special" modem still let the router do its job, or will i have to look into a "special" modem too.

Thanks,

Gareth

To be honest a "Gaming router" sounds like some sort of con.

Just a guess... Its on eBay or some low-quality website and the only person that says its a 'gaming router' is the person trying to get your money?
