Hi David, welcome to itsallPC

I'm have difficulty understanding what you're trying to achieve. Are you attempting to connect two wireless routers together?

Re: low or no connection

I'm still not getting this.

It sounds like you have got two routers and you're somehow trying to link them.

It sounds like you have a Wireless DSL router and a Wired ADSL Router and you're trying to link them. What you really need is a Wireless ADSL Router. Wireless ADSL Routers are a combination of Access Point, ADSL Modem and NAT Router. To get those two devices functioning together would be a bad idea, since they are both pretty low quality to begin with. I also didn't see you mention your PC had a wireless card.

If I'm still not understanding, please try to explain. Remember that I can't read your mind, so when you're explaining how you've got them laid set out and connected, try to read it from the perspective of someone who can't see any of the hardware. Supply information that is relevant. Read over it and make sure you're not missing anything out.

Re: low or no connection

Hi thanks for your help as i said am a bit of a newbie but it is appreciated,

First off my aim is to have my pc upstairs in my bedroom and to be able to access the internet without trailing a phone lead all through my house.

I bought a kit which i thought would do this and you can see what it is on ebay the item number is 120023054358 the description is a D-link wireless router and asdl modem

I then realised my pc has no wireless card so i also purchased a wireless 11g usb adaptor

What i would like to know is how to run all this together so i can use the internet wirelessly ie: something at my phone point sending a signal to my pc upstairs

Do i have the right equipment?

Any help appreciated

David

Re: low or no connection

Sorry forgot to mention the way i tried to set this up

I replaced my speedtouch modem with the one supplied in the kit i connected this to my phone line and also to the wireless router i then installed the software and plugged in my wireless usb adaptor

In the icon tray it shows a wireless network connection but says little or no connectivity

Dont know if this helps

thanks

Security codes

Have you entered a WEP or WPA code? This should be found on your router and will be a series of hexadecimal numbers/letters ie 0 - 9 and A-F without this your wireless card wont connect to the router.
