Email problem
I have an Adsl router, there are 2 PC connected to it, the one is on Windows Xp pro and all is fine with it, the other however is on Windows 2000, I can access internet, send emails from it but when attempting to receive I get a time out message.テつ! Something is happening and I have no idea what it is, I've tried a number of things, checked all is connected properly, used another cable, the nic is fine, adapter is fine (it is an older laptop that uses a PCMCIA adpater for lan), security settings are normal.テつ! My service provider insists that all is fine on their side, but the pop3 server on this particular PC will simply not received emails.テつ! I've even set up the email on another PC and the emails arrive without a problem.テつ! Can anyone assist me with a few suggestions on what could be slowing things down (also set the server time out on Outlook Express to the max) or preventing the emails from coming in.テつ! The error message is a server time out, unable to connect to incoming mail server.テつ! I'd really appreciate some advice as this is really frustrating me!
