Ftp

Im sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I am trying to Ftp from my new computer (Windows XP) to my old computer (Windows 98).
I have tried to do this before by connectiong the two computers up,
Changing the ip address on both computers to 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.3
Then i opened an Ftp client and tried to connect anonymously.
But this didnt work.

Can anybody tell where i went wrong or give me a link to a website then can give me a guide.

Thanks in advance

Re: Ftp

Did you install and configure an FTP server on one of the systems? Why do you want to use FTP instead of File Sharing anyway?

Re: Ftp

File sharing two computers on the same network?

Go to My Network Places, and click "Set up a home or office network" (Or something similar to that) - Complete the wizard. Do the same selecting the exact same options on each other computer. Make sure you enable File and Printer sharing.

Go to my network places. You should now see a couple of new folders.... One for each PC on your network.ÂÂ! - If not restart both pcs and look in My network places again.

Sorry if some of the details there are a bit sketchy.

Hope This Helps
Tom
