Wireless Internet Connection Problem
I'm having trouble witth my wireless internet connection. It won't let me connect to the internet, and it says "Limited or No Connectivity" when I try to connect. The problem is, I think, is that my brother deleted some files in the Program Files, WINDOWS, and system32 folders. And my system restore doesn't work. I was wondering if any of you could tell me what files I would need to solve this, because I lost my WindowsXP disc(s) a while back. And I don't if it means anything, but I'm using DirecWay satellite internet through a Belkin wireless connection. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

Re: Wireless Internet Connection Problem
Time for a format!
You don't need any discs to format a pc on XP. Restart your computer, there will be a message telling you to press a button for more options (Usually F2 or Alt + F10 , or some other stupid combination) The option to format your PC should be in there.

Re: Wireless Internet Connection Problem
Once formatted he'll have to reinstall windows, won't he? This could be difficult without the disks!
I had a similar problem with a wireless connection, it was all due to the main PC (wired to the wireless router) having ICS running when the router was using DHCP. Big problems with other wirelessly connected devices accessing the internet because the router was sending out the main PC's IP as the DNS for the other devices! Hope this helps? |

Re: Wireless Internet Connection Problem
No - Once XP is a computer you can re-install windows as many times as you want without any discs.
- Or atleast I always have been able to with my computers.
