broadband/router issue

hi i have Dlink DI 624+ wireless router 2 pc's with wireless cards and DSL-300G+ modem. ok i have had them all connected and working with broadband. Then suddenly i have lost the broad band connection. i have disconnected and reset each item but can not get every thing working. I have one machine connected by cable to the modem and that is ok. the other machine can see the router and this machine by wireless. when i plug the modem into the router i cannot connect to the internet. I feel sure it is to do with settings but seem to go round in circles. guidence most welcome.

Re: broadband/router issue

I also have a Dlink modem Router so not too sure about what to do when seperate.

I had a problem that my PC with wireless card cound not connect to the wreless router.
Check that you do not have WEP enabled. If you have turn it off and try to connect. or 802.xx turn it off if you are using this. You can always turn this on after you have fixed the problems.
Check your windows settings that you have B/G mode enabled not just G mode.
Also make sure your power mode is continuous access.

make sure you have QoS packet schedular installed. Access for microsoft clients and TCP/IP protocols installed.
Also windows security for wifi is not very good when you have it working use this programme its free for 3 or less computers on 1 network. http://www.lucidlink.com/

Hope this helps a little Loz

Re: broadband/router issue

Kinda a dumb question, but, have you re-started any of the computers?

That worked with my wi-fi network.

Re: broadband/router issue

Hi i have fixed this problem. Bought a new router modem combined connected and worked fine. Reset all the Dlink to factory defaults took it to my sons house set it all up worked fine for a while then cut him off. We think the router is faulty all the lights go off together then come on again.
Thanks for the help
