Re: Whats typed in Word appears in Google?
I guess you have the Google Toolbar?
I dont understand you are working on a network? You on one computer and someone on another pc? You type in word and this comes up on another computer on the network in google? If so this sounds like you have been hacked. You need to run adaware and do a full systems scan uninstall your p2p software first. then your google toolbar. Scan the system and then reinstall. If it continues format!

Re: Whats typed in Word appears in Google?
Well that does not sound very good at all and if i was you iテつ! would be in a panic. It means you are sending information over a network to other PC's. That could mean that you have some Spyware/Malware in your system. And that someone is following your keystrokes. As your keystrokes appear on someone elses PC. I have not heard of this but if i were you i would totally clean my system and install windows again to be safe. When using p2p networks u download programs etc. U do not know where they have come from or what other 3rd party softwareテ「竄ャ邃「s have been embedded into the software u are installing. So it sound 2 me like this has happened to you and a programyou have installed has had keystroke software embedded into it. This means someone is spying on you and has access to your PC and your PC's Information and any thing you transmit or write and access to any other pc that is on your network. I would clean all my network system. As the probable infection will travel as data is passed between your network pc's.

Re: Whats typed in Word appears in Google?
It's not a virus..
It's a p2p network, which means there are shared resources in the network in which every node can use resources from other machines and also serve up resources at the same time. Sounds like a configuration error. Can we have some more information about your network? |

Re: Whats typed in Word appears in Google?
Here's some detail on the network. It's a local peer-to-peer network with 3 PC's running WinXP Pro SR-1, network file sharing is enabled on 2 PC's while the 3rd is only connected to the LAN for Internet access purposes (not a member of the workgroup). The PC's with the network shares are set with static IP's (private network 192.168.0.n) while the third is dynamic, assigned by DHCP on a Netgear router. All three PC's have Norton Internet Security enabled with the most current def's (not that it really makes a difference nowadays).
This is one of the most bizarre issues I've ever run accross. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated and I'll keep the thread updated as to the final solution. |

Re: Whats typed in Word appears in Google?
Certainly sounds like there is a keylogger kicking around somewhere on the system, I would run HijackThis (download from www.merjin.org) and post the logs, I would also visit www.bitdefender.co.uk and run the online scan on each of the machines.
This will tell you whether or not there are any active viruses on your system, finally download and install some anti-spyware onto your computers, view this page to see my personal preferences, please note that Webroot SpySweeper is limited to 30 days free trial, after that I'm afraid you have to either remove it or purchase an annual license for approx テつ」17 per year. However, this is about テつ」7 cheaper than Webroot.com offer it for!!! Hope this helps, Ad |
