ASUS P5K Compatibility with Corsair XMS2

In my system I currently have an Asus P5K and am having a hell of a lot of problems with it. Is there any known conflicts between it and Corsair XMS2 DDR2 CM2X1024-6400C4 G which is the RAM installed???? My games are not even installing which is annoyin the t*ts off me 2 say the least!! i geta message of various .cab files being corrupt when tryin 2 install could this be possible due any conflicts?? (a resorted to taking my system 2 a repair shop and they told me the motherboard is 2 blame)

  • Take the sticks out and test them individually - that will tell you if you have a bad DIMM.
  • You might also want to look at your BIOS settings - The latencies might be set lower than the DIMMs are intended to handle, Or the RAM could be operating above its intended frequency. Try resetting the CMOS and see if that helps.
  • What OS are you using?
  • Do you have any other PCI cards? Are they properly seated? Are both the RAM DIMMs in the correct slots for dual-channel operation?
