RAM upgrade BIOS problems

I bought 1GB single stick of PC3200 RAM over the weekend having had my pc scanned on the Crucial.com website. I showed I was able to run 2 sticks at a maximum of 1GB each

I left in the 512 and added the 1GB, however I was unable to go any further due to a BIOS problem stating ACPI issues and the need to upgrade my BIOS from manufacturers website

The manufacturer is MEDION and having been on their website is states that I can only run two 512mb stciks?

The model is MD MT5

Does anyone have any ideas if I can upgrade the BIOS to overcome this?

Hi there.

If there are no bios updates on the Medion site, and if the Medion site states that your motherboard can only support up to 512MB sticks then i'm affraid the Crucial website is probably wrong.

Thanks Midimoto, I should have said that there is an update available from their website, however it does not state what is on the update and for the life of me I cannot seem to get my pc to accept it

I am using a floppy to reboot the pc with the BIOS update on there but it tells me "non system disc" "please remove and strike any key...."
