Does the Asus A8N-E support Athlon 64 X2?

Hi,

Earlier this year my motherboard blew out and I had to replace it quickly at little expense so I bought an Asus A8N-E m/board with an Athlon 64 3000+ CPU.

Today I've noticed that the prices of Athlon processors has plummeted recently and you can get Athlon 64 4000s for just over £100. I also noticed that an Athlon 64 X2 4600 was selling for £140 and I was interested in that. Unfortunately, the manual for my m/board does not mention anything about supporting the X2 chips, instead just mentioning support for Athlon 64 and Athlon 64 FX. However, a couple of websites have my m/board listed and state that it does in fact support the X2 chips and so I was wondering if anyone could here could positively confirm that an Athlon 64 X2 chip will work with my motherboard?

Thanks very much in advance for your help!
