Evenin' all. How can you lose all USB capabilities? Was downloading a coupla nights ago (on router via USB) when I lost connection. By process of elimination (I thought) got to the USB lead being knackered so got hold of an ethernet lead and all seemed well until I tried to connect my portable HD tonite. The unit is separate powered and is not being picked up by the PC. Please help, got all my music, films etc on here. Cannot try the portable on another PC 'till tomorrow, could it be a driver problem, or is it more likely to be mobo?

hey prolix, have u tried control panel then clicking add new hardware?? also try going to device manager and reinstalling the driver
