need help wiring to front panel

i am replacing the motherboard in a compaq presario 5102 with a ECS Elitegroup P4M800-M7.
the panel connector on the board has 9 pins for: hard drive LED +/-, power LED +/-, reset switch +/-, power switch +/-, and reserved.
the cable from the front panel was connected to the old board as follows: yel and blk cables to pins marked SP LED, red and wht to IDE LED, blu and org to RPW SW, and a single green to PWR LED.
what goes where?

Re: need help wiring to front panel

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Have you looked in the motherboard manual for advice?
I'll try to make sense of it anyway.
The single green from PWR LED will go to power LED +/- on the new board.
Blue and orange probably to reset and power switch.
Red and white to hard drive LED.
I'm not sure what SP LED is.

Keep in mind that this is a total guess!

Re: need help wiring to front panel

Maybe SP LED is referring to the on/standby light?

Re: need help wiring to front panel

Blue is usually Reset, while Orange is Power

Unless it's a Lian-Li case, then Reset is pink and yellow with turquoise stripes and green dots…or something stupid like that.
