I recently got hold of an old P2 machine.
I reinstalled Windows 2000 as it was full of Spyware.
When I run PC Wizard on it there is a yellow warning in the bottem right with the message "SMBios/DMI"
It's not causing any problems from what I can ascertain but I just want to know why it's there and what it means.

Does anybody know?

Did you install the relevant chipset drivers?

After installing Windows I checked Device Manager and everthing was in order.
How would I know if the Chipset Drivers are missing?

You should ALWAYS install the most current chipset drivers immediately after installing Windows.

It's not a matter of whether they're missing or not, it's a matter of system performance and stability. Windows ships with numerous generic/standard drives for core system components, such as PCI Bridges, IDE Controllers, DMA Controllers etc. These drivers work with any system because they adhere to the standards laid out by standard x86 architecture. However, most of these devices have additional features and take advantage of tweaks that are made available by the installation of the chipset drivers. In many cases, drivers and features are omitted when they're vendor specific. Only in the case of some VIA and SiS chipsets does Microsoft ship a complete and preferable driver.

Figure out who the chipset manufacturer is, and install the relevant drivers. It may or may not help; I'm just saying it could.

I installed the latest drivers. It's an i440 chipset.
The error still appears though.
It's running fine not a single problem so far so its more out of curiosity that I'm asking rather than trying to solve a problem
