Dual boot problem vista/xp

Hi,

I have recently bought a laptop toshiba P100-286 with vista home premium installed. For various reasons i have installed XP onto a partition. Unfortunately the laptop will only boot into XP now and i cannot get back into my vista boot. The partition that has XP on is now marked as boot and when I F8 at boot up i only get XP to choose and no vista. Vista is still fully installed on another partition. It is OEM if that helps

Thanks

Darren

Welcome to ItsAllPC.

One quick question.

How did you install an older version of windows when you are using Vista?

You could try formatting the enire of the second partition, but you would have to save data first.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
Tom.

Hi thedaz

As i understand it you need to backup XP but you can ATM only boot to XP so if you download Acronis True Image 10 Home full trial > Here you can burn your XP OS to DVD as XP is running (may be a good idea to back up Vista as well) i use ATI 10 and it works, just do your back up then uninstall ATI 10 (you don't have to buy it). Setting up a dual boot "ie" Vista - XP > Here
