i have recently but a new hardrive and i was just wondering do i have to buy a new windows xp home edition disc to put windows xp on the hardrive or is there away of copying it from the old hardrive to the new one thanks

hi,first is your xp legal if it is just load it and put in the product key,if you have lost your disc and do not know what the key isyou can get it from your old hard drive by downloading "belarc" this will give you the info.
you then need to borrow a disc and away you go ,it may be possible to do what you ask but i have never been able to do it successfully. |

Norton system works has a hard drive clone feature in it (or at least the 2003 version does), and you can copy all your data from one hard drive to another, including windows. Or at least as far as i know you can. I've never actually tried it.
