Disk Consistency Check ???

Now & then, I've been getting the message when starting the PC up that "one of your disk needs checking for consistency" & then it scans taking little long time.

I'm on Windows XP & has FAT32 partition.

Should the message worry me or should it simply be ignored ???

If its coming up with no errors then you shouldn't really worry.

Oh OK but then why does it "scan" it every now & then ??? I didn't do any setting that asks for it to scan regularly ??? It simply seems time-consuming, when you want to use PC for 2 minutes but has to wait 5 minutes while it scans, you see.

Yes BEFORE the "Windows" text appear (the one that occupies the entire monitor screen with process bar at the bottom, if you catch my drift).

That usually happens to me when Windows wasn't shutdown correctly.

Which is what I thought first, but I always shut it down the right way, for sure.
