Everytime i try and run device manager or disc defragmentor it comes up with an error saying another program is using this file.

Also i am unable to get the task manager up.

Any help appreciated

Have you tried a Virus or Spyware scan?

Yeah i've tried adware, avg and spybot.

Got rid of the critical errors but still nothing

This has only just happened recently but have noticed a lot of pop ups until i blocked all cookies on I.E as i use firefox

It really does sound like a spyware infection. Try updating Adaware and scanning again..

If that doesn't work, Backing up your files and reinstalling Windows WILL.

You could also try using a system restore back to a time when everything was working fine.

To do this go to Start > All programs > Accesories > System Tools > System Resotre

You may loose some porgrams.

Does any1 know anything about microsoft .net

I uninstalled it by accident and have installed .ent framework which is think is the wrong one as windows longs on differently. Are they different things and where can i get the orignal .net from, cheers
