can anybody help

Hi everybody,
I am having a problem in opening files. my pc is windows xp home edition. works 7.0
I am not good in computers, and it has been a wile since I started recieving this message when I try to open files :

"Paint can not open this file. this is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported".

I appriciate any help. many thanks.

Hi there. Welcome to ItsAllPC.

Try this.

If you are opening say a Word file, Right click on it, and select Open With, then select Microsoft Word - And do this which each file you want to open.

If this does not work we need more information.

What type of file are you trying to open?

I am not able to open most of adobe PDF files, that I used to open normaly. and if I right click on the file I can not see the option open with windows. there is only open, open in new window, save target as and print target. thanks.

Have you installed <a href="http://www.adobe.com/products/acroba...p2.html">Adobe Reader</a> on your PC?
Also, what version of Windows are you running?
