Re: windows xp x64 edition

well basicly i have built my new computer. i have configured the bios settings. i need to install the operating system. i put the disk in and it runs through loading all the system hardware then freezes at the blue screen with the messege at the bottom reading setup is starting windows.
it not showing these options:
press enter to install a fresh copy of windows

press r to repair windows

press f3 to exit

i think it a hardware problem as nothing is being installed at that point.

Re: windows xp x64 edition

Again, it will help if you tell us something ABOUT your computer hardware: CPU, motherboard, HDD configuration. that sort of thing.

hi unholy dragon, i think you may have a faulty ram stick, try removing one at a time and leaving 1 in then try to install windows, let me know how it goes

Re: windows xp x64 edition

sorry mate your advise come too late. i managed to get it to work.

i just put the keyboard in a different usb port and it it was able to get me out of that sticky situation.

i have noticed that not alot of stuff out there are compatible with 64 bit.
i had to download avast antivirus software as it the only software that works on 64 bit.

persistance pays off.

computer is quite fast compared to a 32 bit.
