Re: Xp Help

Hello and welcome to the forum,

What exactly do you want to do?
Could it be achieved by reinstalling Windows?

Re: Xp Help

So what happens now if you press F10 during bootup?

I can't explain why the option vanished but it is possible and perfectly legal to burn your
own Windows disk which you could then use for reinstallation purposes.
You need your own licence key to do this of course.

Re: Xp Help

That is unusual.
I've looked around but can't find any solution to the problem so far.
The next best thing would be to reinstall Windows from your own boot CD.
I can give you instructions on how to create one if you like.

Re: Xp Help

No problem. Glad to hear its sorted.
Licences aren't usually locked to a particular copy of Windows and so will work with any CD

F10 rescue

On quite a few systems, you are required to go into the BIOS and ENABLE the Rescue operation [Activate the F10 key]
This is a safety function i.e. to stop you doing it by mistake, as the Rescue will Reformat the Disk with loss of Data
