Hi,
I have windows 2000 pro in my computer and when I turn it on the windows can not start because of the missing or corrupt file asking me to repair it with win2000 cd. my question is I don't want to loose the data so what is the appropriate way to repair this problem. ???

The Windows 2000/XP Repair operation is non-destructive - you will not loose any data, unless that data is corrupt and useless anyway.
