640x480 resolution at 16 colors, ewwww, please help

Hello, I Have A Patriot Personal Computer From 1998 And I Just Re-Formatted The Hard drive. I cannot find any drivers for the video card. I Need Them Because Right Now I Can Only Get Windows ME To Run In 16 Colors At 640x480 Resolution. If Anyone Can Help Me Find The Video Drivers, Or OfferĂ‚Â! A Solution To Make My Computer Run At 256 Colors With 800x600 Resolution I Would Be Very Happy. It Is Not Onboard Video By The Way, I Know It Is An Intel Card, And The Mother Board Says It Is A Intel AL440LX. I Do Not Know What Model Computer It Is, But I Would Love To Make My Photos Look Like Photos Again When I Look At Them.

If the card is a Intel then maybe you could contact them to ask them what drivers you need?

There is a small list of driver sites here http://www.itsallpc.co.uk/index.php/topic,33.0.html that u may find the drivers @ do you not have any model numbers for your pc at all?

You could try out a few older intel graphics drivers maybe you will be luck and hit one that is compatible.

Here are your mother board bios http://www.elbe1.com/INTEL/Motherboa...0LX/18074.html

And here is a list of intel graphic drivers http://www.driver32.com/brand.asp?id=534
Hope this helps Loz

Ps. A model number would help a lot! :-)

Really Sorry But No Model Number At All, I Am Going To Look Through All The Manuals That Came With The Computer Back When I Bought It In 1998 (Or Whats Left Of Them), And Try And Find What I Can Find.

sorry jbrown456 I know this thread is a bit old but I'll comment anyway. for other interested members

download this neat little tool http://www.download.com/Belarc-Advis...-10406799.html which will list and identify every thing on your computer from your motherboard to your monitor and all programs installed.
It will list your graphics card under the heading DISPLAY

It will list your graphics card enabeling you do a search for you card driver at maybe driverguide.com http://www.driverguide.com/ ..

failing that just go out and buy a very cheap PCI graphics card.

good luck
