I have a Sony M2 memory card for my phone and I got tired of plugging my phone into my computer with the wire and everything, so, as my laptop has a built in memory card reader, I bought an M2 Memory Stick Micro Adapter.
But the problem is - when I got home with the adapter I put it in my laptop, and the mouse just froze (may have been the whole laptop) but my laptop has never froze before, and after a few minutes of doing nothing I pulled the card out and my screen went black so I restarted my laptop and windows repair came up. after my laptop came back on I tried plugging my memory card back in and the mouse froze again and when I pulled it back out, the mouse worked again ?? I'm so confused please help !! ![]() ![]() PS:: I just figured that leaving the memory card in the laptop and waiting for abit, I get a blue screen, and then my laptop automatically turned off. But the blue screen didnt stay on long enough for me to remember what it said sorry, the only thing I did catch was dump physical memory or something Last edited by PMatth3ws : 07/07/08 at 13:04. |

problems
I had a similar problem to this I don't think I can answer it just guide so ta speak. When my Pc crashed and the blue screen showed it was because I had wire trouble the connectors from the hard drive to the mother board. This resulted in the blue screen. With you'rs being a laptop have someone you trust and who knows what they are doing to have a look at its internal connectors one may have come lose. Causing it to crash when tries to read the memory card
This is only a possability It may not be you're problem at all. Don't start taking apart you're laptop if you don't know what you are doing. |

I dont think it's anything to do with inside my laptop, as my cousin was using his memory stick in there the other day but his was an SD card, whereas mine is a Sony M2 and mines much longer than his. His was working fine and he was transferring stuff and everything smoothly. So I don't really want to take the risk of taking apart my laptop, I'd rather just use USB wire to my phone but really dont want to resort to that!
Oh and btw, a couple of hours ago I reformatted my memory card and took the password off it and it worked fine apart from 'my computer' kept not responding when trying to access the card, but worked with several attemps untill I shut down my laptop and when I booted it up again it was doing same old thing. thanks for replying, If theres anything else you can think of it would be great ![]() |

I Don't sugest taking your laptop apart if you don't know what you are doing. There is an alternitive i came accross a while ago that is a good aid in opening and repairing Laptops. It will work for nearly all laptops as its technique based rather than individual models and a full on Video.
you should be able to find it at Home |

I tried uninstalling the driver, and used it without the driver and it was exactly the same, I then installed the driver again and same problem.
I have a feeling it is a problem with my memory card adapter, I might just buy a new one. thanks for replying Last edited by PMatth3ws : 11/07/08 at 17:26. |

You have to go back to the manifacturer and get there drivers.
Manually remove Microsoft Drivers and Manually install the manifacturers. Failing that, i would send the stick it back. It is also possible that there is a problem with the stick. If you can then i would try a different stick or combination. |
