Looking for a DVD Tutorial on how to Open my Laptop

I broke my power socket on my laptop after a nasty fall. I took my laptop to my local repair shop.
It was a shock to hear he wanted £150 for the repair, no way was i going to pay that. Not only that,
i have heard so many negative things about the repair shops where the repair doesn’t last.
It seems forever i am looking for help on this issue. Does anyone know any good sources ?
I am ok on DIY and pretty good on soldering but i am stuck on opening the laptop without breaking it.
I heard that some people have made repair DVDs and ordered a few but there more or less PDF’s
I am trying to find a proper DVD tutorial that is Video based and fully featured.
Does anyone know where i can get hold of one ? I don’t mind any reasonable price.
I am not looking for a list or text based or PDF tutorial.
Basically what i am looking for is a proper hands on video walkthrough where i can see the basics of how to open
this thing.
Please please help.
Lars

sorry to break it to you but its doubtful you'll get a dvd thats specific to your laptop as pretty much every one is different in the way its put together, in general there are a number of screws on the bottom that'll need to be undone, however this will void your warrenty, i've opened a couple of laptops and ALWAYS had trouble, now i just avoid opening them.

what type of laptop do you have? age etc?

even if you do manage to get inside you may have to get a replacement part? and i wouldnt advise self-soldering, thats asking for trouble on such a small scale.

try getting in touch with the manufacturer, see how much it would cost for a repair from them.

Hi Lars,
I have replied to a similar post of yours,
You should avoid duplicating your post.
Anyway as i replied to your other post
You can get a DVD Video that shows you how to open a laptop.
As the other guy says all laptops are different but the principals
are the same. The guy that made the DVD Tutorial at the address that follows has made it so that the video can be used for any modern laptop
as it involves the techniques and organizing the work. Very clever and simple overhead view video. I had seen him mentioned a few times
and with great reviews so it tempted me to have a look, so i bought the DVD and very surprised to find it extremely good and helpful.
I have used it to open a couple of Laptops successfully and with confidence. Anyway i highly recomend it. You can find it at Home
hope that helps
Carl
