Buying Laptop, Few Qs

Right im currently using a desktop computer. It has a network card which is picking up the router downstairs wirelessly. Im wondering, when i get rid of this computer and by a laptop. Will the laptop pick up the belkin router downstairs so i can use it wirelessly ?

Im looking to get something like this or this.
http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Acer_Asp ... sion-1.asp
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/652382

The current specs of my computer are. Amd Sempron 3100 + , 1.81ghz processor and 226 mb of ram. Will a laptop like those above be better in terms of internet browsing, programme launching etc.

Thanks, also, if anybody can recomend any sites or laptops it will be much apreciated. Im looking to spend up to £350. I know its not a lot but it looks like a can get a laptop with better specs then my desktop which i have no problems with as i have reached 926kbps on a 4mb connection or maybe an 8 haha.

Also wondering if it will overheat if i leave it downloading all night etc.

thanks

Hiya nathanlowe

Depending what Laptop you decide upon if you download overnight it may overheat and shutdown closing the connection, for £350 you can get a Laptop but you need to hunt about, example > Here

What chances are there that it wont overheat and shut down ? Thats one of the main things i do with my desktop so i will be doing it with the laptop.

Out of any of the laptops ive shown or you have, which will be the best for not overheating ?

thanks

Hi nathanlowe

To be honest thats hard to say as to overheating (a gaming Laptop "eg" Rock Xtreem would take a lot to overheat) when you decide on the one you want to buy i would contact the manufacturers and ask then what the shutdown temperature is, or ask around before you buy, you can get Laptop coolers "see link" one with fans may be a good idea.

Example > Laptop Cooler with Fans
