'USB device not recognised'

I've got a half working fujitsu laptop and periodically a message pops up saying 'USB device not recognised' this message continued even after i reinstalled windows half the usb ports on teh laptop dont work and i dont really care anymore but is the any way to stop the message coming back?

If this occurs when you plug a USB device in, it's a different animal.

If it occurs apparently spontaneously, it's because you have a peripheral device built into the laptop, like a memory card reader or camera that is hardwired to USB, but no longer functions. The only way to ensure you're not bothered by it (short of actually fixing it) is to disable the device in the Device Manager.
