Re: Reading files off a CD
When Windows recognises a CD file system as RAW (instead of CDFS or UDF), it means that as far as it is concerned, the disc is blank. If you are absolutely certain the discs do have data, then it’s most likely that the optical drive cannot read them.
It’s not uncommon for some optical drives to have difficulty reading CDs burned at another optical drive’s maximum burn speed. If this is the case, all you can do is find an optical drive that does read them, and make copies.
Try the optical drive with a printed disc (commercially produced). If it works, then you know the optical drive isn’t defective, just a bit particular.
