I was recently given a computer by one of my friends who didn't want it anymore after he upgraded.
When I got it, it was in a pretty bad shape. So I re-partitioned and formatted the hard disk, and used the setup disk to re-install Windows XP.
Here's some screeshots of what I discovered afterwards:
Ok. So apparently there is no Display device. I don't know a great deal about computers, but I'm pretty sure that without a display adapter, the computer should not function at all.
The guy that gave it to me wasn't sure himself of what graphics card he had purchased for it. So I opened it up, and to my suprise, found absolutely no card inside. Then I did a bit of research and learnt about the existance of IGP's. CPU-Z tells me that the motherboard is made by SiS, which according to Wiki produce only IGPs and not cards. I thought I was on a roll.
I went to the SiS site, and downloaded the correct drivers for the chipset (741GX) and tried to install them. I got an error message, telling me that there is no VGA driver.
I'm unsure about what to do here. If anyone could shed some light on my situation, that would be great. And if there is anything I need to explain further, or any extra information that might be needed, feel free to ask me for it. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. =)
EDIT: Ok, well I guess this place isn't all that active. I was helped by someone elsewhere, and it's fixed now, so I'll provide the solution here for anyone who may come along with a similar problem.

I went there. They're responsible for making my mainboard. I put my model into the search engine and looked up 'Drivers'. I scrolled down and looked for the compatible XP Display drivers and installed them. Now it's all good. Thanks go to a certain somebody on OC3D.
