Dual Monitor Acer T180
I have just bought an Acer T180 with AMD Athlon 64 X2 2Ghz, 1GB RAM and a built-in NVIDIA GeForce 6100 nForce 405 (which uses 256Mb of the 1GB RAM). I am trying to connect a 2nd 19" monitor.
I have tried to install a second graphics card (Matrox Quad G200 MMS) in the only PCI slot in which it will fit. When I restart the PC, it will not even boot Windows. It beeps and then nothing happens. I used the Matrox card in my previous PC to run a second monitor, as I am trying to do now, with no issues. Am I doing something wrong? Is there possibly insufficient power to run the card? Is the card incompatible with this PC or do I need to adjust some settings? Is there a graphics card that may be better suited instead?
