Re: problem about display

Hi there welcome to ItsAllPC.

If you can get on to your dektop, try this.

Right Click on an empty space on the desktop, Select Properties, and click the Settings tab.

When on the settings tab, move the slider on the left untill it says 1280*1024.

Then, also on the Settings tab, click advanced, and proceed to the Monitor tab. Change the "Screen Refresh rate" to "60 Hertz"

"ok" all the open dialog boxes untill they close, then restart your computer.

When it starts up it shouldn't receive that error message.

Ah, jeez midimoto, you beat me. You responded while I was typing it. Oh well, I'm not going to let this go to waste.

It's kind of hard to understand the problem, but I'll take a stab at it.
  • If you can, right click on the desktop and click on properties.
  • Then click on the "settings" tab that appears in the display properties window.
  • Adjust the slider under the "Screen resolution" heading to 1280*1024
  • Select OK and the problem should be solved*

*That is, if I deciphered the post correctly

Uhh...Midimoto, I think you mean to the right. Right increases the resolution.

I meant the position of the slider on the dialog box.

Like... The slider isnt at the top right of the screen, its on the left.ÂÂ!

Re: problem about display

thank you for your suggestions!

In my case, I can enter the window desktop but I can't see any desktop icon and start bar,but the floating msg"Not recommended XXXXXXXX".

Can I adjust the resolution and Hz during the initialization of the system or BIOS ??

Re: problem about display

No, you cant as it is part of Windows / Additional software.

As far as I can see there are two possible fixes for this, either fit a different graphics card, or re-install Windows.

Re: problem about display

You may be having a graphics driver problem

Try booting into VGA mode (hit F8 just prior to the Windows boot logo and choose VGA Mode). Remove your display driver from Add/Remove Programs. Reboot. Try reinstalling it.
