Graphics Cards

Do certain graphics cards work better with certain processors? For example would a certain make of card run bettter with an AMD processor over an Intel one?

Also, any good site where I could by reasonably prices new processors.

Re: Graphics Cards

I don't think the processor/video card BRAND matters very much. What you want is similiar "speed" processor/video cards. For example, you wouldn't necessarily want to pair a FX57 with a Radeon9000, or a P3 600MHz with a 7800GTX (if that's even possible.) Try to spend your money on a "close" pair, like maybe a Venice 3200+ and a 6800 or something similiar.

Re: Graphics Cards

There was a time, in the 1990s, where drivers were often optimized for certain processors, or didn't really work properly with others. For example, there were serious driver performance issues in early Detonator drivers (Now called Forceware, for those new to NVIDIA or those with short memories ) that meant they didn’t work very well with the AMD K6-2.

People often think, this is still the case, but since there is now more money in games than movies, it’s within Intel, AMD, NVIDIA and ATI to get things working as efficiently as possible.

Re: Graphics Cards

Hi ya pc builder.

I used to live in the uk and while there i used ebuyer.http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/home/ this was my bible for pc bits, it has obvious connections with ebay but all goods are new, well priced and very fast delivery.
Check it out and see what you think.
I think p&p goes but the weight not number of items. so you could get 6 small items shipped for the same price as one heavy one.
