Re: graphics card problems

Hi Meatpie,

Well, certainly an interesting problem there. Let's look at what could be causing it.

This is what should be done in order, ideally...
1) Have you installed the AGP drivers for the motherboard, if these are needed?
2) Have you installed the drivers for the graphics card
3) Have you installed the graphics card in the AGP slot, and is it bedded correctly?
4) Have you disabled the integrated graphics and plugged the data cable into the new port?

Looking at the specs of the MSI 845GEM system board, this does support graphics but only up to 4x. Ensure your graphics card is also set for 4x, otherwise it won't work.

Hope this helps,

Re: graphics card problems

What is the size of your power supply? And how much power does your new video card require?

Sometimes upgrading a video card will also force you to get a bigger power supply if your original one isn't up to video card power requirements.
