Help installing flash player?

Hi everyone, hope someone out there can help a confused soul? I have recentley inherited a Toshiba Equium laptop which is running Windows XP. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to download flash player so am unable to view content and sites like You Tube. I think I have worked out the problem. In the trouble shooting guide on the adobe site it advises that all previous flash programs be unistalled. When I enter my list of programs there is a Macromedia Media Flash Player, but when I click to unistall it a Windows installer box pops up and states:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network source that is unavailable. Click on ok to try again, or enter an alternative path to a folder containing the installation package 'Install_flash _player_7.msi' in the box below:
Use source: C:\Sysprep\

That is where I am stuck. No matter what I've tried so far has got rid of this Macromedia flash player. Can anyone help me please?
Thanks.

It sounds like the program isn't installed any longer, but the registry hasn't been updated to reflect this. Try CCleaner - it will scan your registry for dead links, etc... and remove them automatically. It also comes with an uninstaller for programs that don't come with one themselves.

Let us know how it goes.
