Quality of DVD Video modes...

I have a few CSI Episodes that I recorded with my TV tuner that I want to burn to a DVD. Specifically, 24 episodes, each about 45 minutes long. I already edited the videos to remove commercials and what not. Now I want to burn them to some DVDs. I noticed that obviously I can't add all the videos, but using different video modes (SP, LP, EP, SLP, SEP), I can put more on a DVD. I was wondering if the quality of the DVDs is reduced greatly with each step down. If the quality isn't too bad, I would like to use SLP which is 360min per disc. That is, I can fit 8 episodes per DVD, which means I would fully utilize 3 DVDs.
