I often finding myself waiting for my computer to do something. Sometimes it's defragging, sometimes it's downloading some huge file, sometimes it's converting a ripped google video. Whatever it is, I have to find something to do.

I usually turn around my chair, get up, walk three steps, and begin playing on my PSR GX76 keyboard. Not a computer keyboard mind you, but a 76 key synthasizer that I've had since I was about 9 years old. I haven't taken any piano lessons (those were planned, hence why my parents bought me a $400 keyboard), but I find that it's fun to figure out a few cool sounding chords and improvise using them. That can kill a few minutes, or hours, depending on how much fun I have layering tracks.

Often, I go grab a bite to eat when I'm bored and waiting. That can be dangerous to some with slow metabolisms, but I shouldn't worry. Then I sit in front of the TV and become a couch potato.

Luckily, I can use the computers multitasking ability to do something in the background, and surf the web, or play a game in the foreground.

But for some reason, nomatter what I end up doing, it's never productive; I can never bring myself to find anything productive to do. Kinda like this post (I'm waiting for the HD to defrag so I can play BF2). There really isn't any point to it is there. I guess it's to provide some information about what I do when I'm bored and the computer is busy. That and my own personal curiosity about what you guys do when you're waiting for something to finish on the computer.

I always set up tasks which are going to take any length of time just before I leave the house to go somewhere. There's always time in between computer sessions to do maintenance tasks or whatever.

I sure don't have time to waste on waiting for a defrag.
