How much should I charge?

I have a client who is having me work on two of her laptops. On one of the laptops, she is having me install Windows over her MacOS. I've checked to see if her laptop is compatable and it is. It has an Intel Proc and is included on the BootCamp compatability list. The other laptop has a dead/barely living hard drive. I am installing a replacement 40GB HD, reinstalling Windows and putting all her previous data back on it. I am only 16 (as of today---It's my birthday!) and I don't really have a clue what I should charge. Any ideas?

Re: How much should I charge?

Can you even install Windows without Mac OS X on that laptop.
I mean, you'll need BootCamp for the partitioning and OS X for making the drivers CD so how will you completely wipe OS X and still maintain the OS choice at startup provided by BootCamp? Which is installed on the OS X partition.
I don't think it's possible, you'll probably need to leave OS X on a small partition at the very least!

Two Windows reinstalls
BootCamp setup
Hard Drive replacement
Data backup

Thats a good couple of hours.

Yes it's easy but it wil take time so $40 at least.
I really don't know though I usually fix friends/family for free.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Re: How much should I charge?

OSX is on the laptop, so it's possible. My dad reccomended charging $30 per job, so that would be $60 overall for both jobs. The last job I did for her, which was building her computer, I did for free. I am going to charge her this time. I need the money for my 7800GS.
