Your graphics card is probably itnergrated in your motherboard... Which doesnt help...

If your just after playing the odd game, I Would get any 128MB Graphics card, Shove it in and It should make a big difference, even though its a 'Less modern' graphics card..

Re: My Graphic card is too small so i'm told

Well, MB size in graphics cards really doesn't mean a thing. You'll want to knwo the core that the card uses and the memory, and what technology features it offers.

For example: A 6600GT 128MB would DESTROY an FX5200 128MB, but they both have 128MB of RAM. This is accomplished because the core of the 6600GT is far superior than that of the FX5200, and same goes for the memory (speed of the memory I mean, and also type of memory used)

First off, do you need PCI, AGP, of PCI-E? These are all different "sockets" you could say for graphics cards. Also, what games are you trying to play? If the yare newer, you will more than likely ned a pretty expensive card, if they are older or just not very intense games then you can get by with a cheaper card.

Re: My Graphic card is too small so i'm told

The amount of memory on a graphics card really makes little difference.

A Radeon 9600 Pro 256MB isn’t even on the same planet as a GeForce 7800 GTX, even though they both have 256MB. In the same comparison, a Radeon X800 GTO 128MB could toast a GeForce FX 5950 Ultra with 256MB.

The graphics processor (GPU/VPU) is what pushes out the polygons and pixels, and what truly influences the performance. This is represented in the core clock rate and pixel pipelines. To put this in perspective, video memory is like a kitchen work bench, pixel pipelines are chefs and the frequency is how fast they work. It’s good to have plenty of work space; too little space leaves chefs with nothing to work on, but if there is more space for them to work than they need, it doesn’t help.

In the examples above, a Radeon 9600 Pro is a 4 pipeline card clocked at 400 MHz which equals 1.6 Gigatexel/s filtrate, where as a GeForce 7800 GTX is a 24 pipeline card at 430 MHz, equating to 10.3 Gigatexels a second. The GeForce FX 5950 Ultra has 4 pipelines at 475 MHz, or 3.8 GTexels/s, and the Radeon X800 GTO has 12 pipelines at 475 Mhz, or 5.7 GTexels/s.

What you probably need is a faster card, not more memory.

Damnit eric! :P

6600GT 128MB vs FX5200 128MB though...that's a good one. I once watched a FX5200 64MB (64bit) get 0 frames per second on Aquamark 3's Massive Overdraw test.

Re: My Graphic card is too small so i'm told

Again, are you lookign or AGP, PCI, or PCI-E? Tihs matters because if you only have PCI slots, and you buy ang AGP or PCI-E card, it won't even fit into your motherboard, and visa versa.

Also, it' important to know the difference between a budget gaming card, and a high performance gaming card. You could buy an AGP 128MB cad that sucks, or buy and AGP128MB card that is pretty good, and they are both AGP and 128MB !

Post here what you are thinking about buying, and then we can help you decide if that's a good card for your purposes or not.
