Upgrade?

I was advised by 'techguys' at Pc World that in order to play Flight Simulator X i had to upgrade my computer. I bought 500w power supply, graphics card, and 1GB of RAM which i installed myself ...

here is my specs so far;

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+
1.99GHZ
1.50GB (RAM)
Running XP 2002 version
NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT
Manufacted by Compaq

Flight simulator is still running poorly, its quick performance wise but graphics are rubbish. How could i improve my graphics for this game?

Have you tried to up the graphics settings in the menus?

If yes how does it perform with max resolution and all the graphics settings up full?

If you are saying you are putting the resolution and graphics settings up full and the computer is still runing without any jerkeyness then you are the limits for the game and new components won't help but if you turn them up and you do get jerkyness then yes a new processor and motherboard will help.
