Question motherboard issue

Hi i just upgraded my pc to a pentium 4 brought it all at a computer fair. i got the motherboard first and as i had a budget to stick to (as We all do) i told him what i wanted to suit my price range he sold me a Gigabyte technolgy 8vt88op combo he made it sound good anyways when i went back 2 months later to get the rest i was told that , that motherboard had been discontinued i was worried thinking i couldnt get the cpu and any other componits for it but then luckely a nice man said he could help me i told him what motherboard i brought earlier a Gigabyte technolgy 8vt88op combo, The Guy who was selling me the cpu and ram tried to find out if mine would support dual core but since there were 2 series of the Gigabyte technolgy 8vt88op combo (1 takes Dual Core The Other Takes Single) and as we didnt know at the time what series i had i had to get the single **NOW I KNOW IT IS THE REV #b SERIES** i have been to the Gigabyte website but they both seem the same to me i was wondering if you could tell me which series supports dual core sorry about before i had a 12 month old on my lap while i was trying to explain

It's really hard to understand what you're after
